• An exclusive showroom of traditional and antique costumes and masks at the Luna Hotel Baglioni
During Carnival 2012, part of the Luna Hotel Baglioni will become a special showroom full of handmade costumes and masks created by Atelier Marega. The costumes are based on 17th and 18th Century Venetian models and guests may rent or buy their fancy dress for the party (Costume d’Epoque or elegant dress with Mask and Cloak).

On the first Carnival Saturday, the 11th February, this most historical hotel of Venice will host a special Masquerade evening. In theFireplace Room, during the Welcome Cocktail by the warm flickering fire, you will taste typical Venetian Canapés. The evening will continue with a buffet dinner in the Marco Polo Ballroom, which has original frescoes by pupils of the Tiepolo School. Here you will be part of one of the most renowned Italian Operas, “La Tosca” by Puccini revisited in an amusing way by top level artists from the stages of the most famous Italian and International Theatres including La Fenice. Entertainment with special Artistes and dancing till late with Dance Music and Disc-Jockey. Finally, end the evening sampling the exquisite, typical Venetian desserts, frittelle and galani.
The following week, on Friday 17th February, the Luna Hotel Baglioni will host in its prestigious rooms the Great Baglioni Party, in an 18th Century atmosphere. In the Marco Polo Ballroom, while sipping refreshing Venetian Cocktails, guests will experience the real Carnival of Venice by learning to dance the elegant 18th century Minuette with Carnival dance experts. Buffet dinner, exquisite Venetian desserts and a DJ set to enjoy Venetian Carnival.
Saturday night, 18th February will close the celebrations. Guests will be involved in a masquerade catwalk of costumes in theFireplace Room. In the elegant ambience of the Marco Polo Ballroom, there will be a performance of one of the most renowned Italian Operas: “Madame Butterfly” by Giuseppe Verdi, performed by top-level artists. A delicious Gala dinner followed by specialVenetian desserts will be served before starting the nights’ dancing.
