The history of a brand

Luxury with an Italian flavour

The Baglioni Hotels Group was created in 1973, when Roberto Polito purchased his first establishment in Tuscany, in Punta Ala (Hotel Cala del Porto), working with his wife Lise to develop a unique concept of hospitality in terms of life experience: a journey into Italian style through its culture and different traditions.

With this in mind, Baglioni Hotels has developed a collection which today counts 9 exclusive hotels, mostly hosted in period buildings and in the historic centres of the major cities of art. There are 5 hotels in Italy, 3 in France and 1 in the heart of London, a hotel inaugurated in March 2004 which marked a significant turning point in the chain’s design concept. The new London style has renewed the brand image, proposing a less formal, pompous idea of elegance, whilst retaining the sophisticated refinement of the details and materials which make the difference. It is a concept of contemporary luxury aimed at a public sensitive to new trends. Today, the Group is managed by the family’s younger generation, who developed the idea of the London hotel, guiding the company towards new international projects.

In parallel to this expansion, Luca Magni and Guido Polito, the Chief Executive Officer of the Group, have also come up with a versatile, innovative catering format: the Brunello Lounge&Restaurant, a brand launched in 2004 at the Baglioni Hotel London now also present in Italy, in Rome (Regina Hotel Baglioni). With the Brunello Lounge&Restaurant, Baglioni Hotels’ much-desired project to reach the apex of the culinary market, in parallel to that of hotel hospitality, is taking shape.

In October 2012, the Chef Moreno Cedroni, 2 Michelin starred, chose Brunello Lounge & Restaurant in London as the ideal location to promote the art and the italian culinary excellence, launching his new restaurant “Moreno at Baglioni”.
