An original two part pièce including the Wizard of Oz and Gianni Schicchi, will be presented at the Teatro Comunale of Firenze on 19 al 23 December. Ballet and opera in one event.
The Wizard of Oz, coreography by Francesco Ventriglia and music by Sergej Rachmaninov conducted by Nik Kanaretti and is an absolute novelty, a new creation for the Florentine ballet MaggioDanza. The ballet is based on the famous fairytale by L.F Baum, already the subject of various films and musicals.
Gianni Schicchi is a comedy by Giacomo Puccini, a masterpiece of joy, originality and classy irony.
This edition, originating in cooperation with Maggio Fiorentino Formazione, a focal point of new talents in the various theatre fields, for the first time presents the new voices emerging from the singing competition of the Maggio Fiorentino.
