Volume is a sort of museum-book store-café on Piazza Santo Spirito in Florence, located within the spaces of an olden time artisan workshop.
Inside of the shop art works in wood by Mario Mariotti - collaborator of the Bini brothers, owners of the shop - are exhibited (some of which are also on display at the MOMA in New York).
The shop has a warm and inviting ambience, giving the sensation of coming into a friend's house rather than a public locale. The comfy and vintage sofas invite you to sit, relax and leaf through a book under the Deco lamps, with fine music in the background.
Aperitifs are served each evening along with a fresh buffet of canapés, crudités, olives and crackers with excellent cocktails.
Volume has quickly become a gathering spot for those who wish to meet with friends in an environment far from the confusion and tussle of other Florentine nightspots.
Volume constantly puts on exhibitions from art to crafts, contemporary painting and in the evening, on the small stage inside of the main room, live concerts and cabaret performances are held.
