Antico Setificio Fiorentino
Based in its original 1786 location, the Antico Setificio Fiorentino continues to produce handmade silk, creating luxurious fabrics that are always in high demand worldwide.
It is here that the drapes and fabrics for the Quirinal Palace, the Senate, Palazzo Madama, the Kremlin and the royal palaces of Stockholm and Copenhagen were produced.
International architects and interior designers of the calibre of Gae Aulenti, Peter Marino and Juan Pablo Molyneux stock up here when furnishing the most prestigious homes and apartments.
Weaving still takes place using 18th century hand looms hand and 19th century mechanical looms, while a small hand loom dating as far back as the 17th century is still used to restore fabrics or create special frills.
In addition to quality fabrics and textiles, here you can find ready-made trim, curtains, pillows, pillow cases and bedspreads.
