Paperback Exchange English Bookshop, Florence
Paperback Exchange is a small Anglo-American bookshop located in the immediate vicinity of the Florence Cathedral.
The motto printed on its receipts is “Small is beautiful...bookshops above all”, and the shop in fact comprises just two rooms that are beautifully furnished and give customers the sensation that they are browsing the library of a private home.
All the books exhibited are in English and include best-sellers, poetry, art, the history of fashion and fiction.
With the exception of two Italians, all staff is English or American, although all speak perfect Italian and are always ready to provide advice and suggestions.
The bookshop often organises readings, presentations and small events.
