“Wonderful time, friendly and efficient” We stayed for one week and enjoyed our time thoroughly. The complimentary upgrade was amazing...( Thank you very much Pia!) This is a small high class hotel, situated at the end of the Punta Ala peninsula, overlooking the marina. As such, it is quite peaceful and quiet. Not much to do in the immediate vicinity, unless you like frying on the beach, Italian style. However, there are many interesting places to visit by car...from Etruscan ruins to hilltop towns and warm sulphur springs. The hotel restaurant is nicely situated...we ate outside on one of the two terraces each time. Service was always excellent and friendly...menu was varied and interesting, however a little bit too Nouvelle Cuisine for us. The breakfast buffet was good but should be overseen and replenished more often. We took afternoon tea several times, the petit fours which came for free were a nice touch. Chambermaid service was excellent and unobtrusive, cleanliness in the entire hotel was perfect, as it should be in a 5 star hotel but not always is! Well done management. We were sorry to leave...being pampered for a week was so good!!

The personal attention of the Manager and the front of house staff was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome. The pool life guard kept the pool area very clean and tidy was very friendly and helpful putting out towels and putting up the sun umbrellas, the complimentary iced tea by the pool at 5.00pm is a nice touch, and at a minimal cost to the hotel so perhaps a complimentary 3.00pm iced tea would be possible. For a Luxury hotel the rooms were a bit small, and at Euro 630 a night I had expected a bigger room with more comfortable furnishings. The bathroom was probably ready for a refurbishment, the knobs on the draw pulls were tarnished. However the grounds and the pool and the views from the room were wonderful. But just a bit expensive and the breakfast buffet was not as extensive as a hotel at this price range should offer, there was no hot food available.

“Hotel cala del Porto for a Romantic week end” We stayed at the hotel Cala del Porto in Punta Ala and the only problem we had is that our stay was too short :-) It was the first time for us in Punta Ala and I can say that this place is really nice and clean, perfect for a romatic stay. A lot of green areas, Golf courses and beautiful beaches. The hotel itself has a great location as it has a wonderful view over the port. There is a nice swimming pool and not to many people. The restaurant has a great menu with all kind of fish dishes. Roomes are very nice and the staff very friendly. Just make sure you book a romm with a view and a balcony, the ones that are facing the see. The cost a bit more as compared to the ones on that are facing the court bu, believe me, theya re worth every penny. To relax at sunset in this balcony with a cocktail in your hands will reconciliate you with life. The hotel is rated as a 4 stars but in my opinion it could be a 5 stars.
