Serpentine Gallery, London

Located in Hyde Park in central London, the Serpentine Gallery is an important showcase of international modern and contemporary art.

The Gallery takes its name from the lake that is overlooked by the elegant 1930s building that was once a tea time pavilion.

Every summer, an architect of international renown is commissioned to design an outdoor pavilion that is generally taken down in autumn. The structure is designed to host cinematographic screenings, shows, concerts as well as important social events to raise funds for the centre.

Its wonderful location, the free admission and the original and diverse exhibitions held on a continuous basis have made the Serpentine Gallery one of the best-loved and most popular places visited by Londoners, attracting more than 750,000 visitors every year.
