The exclusive show David Bowie Is, dedicated to the Thin White Duke, will be on exhibit at the Victoria & Albert Hall Museum in London from 23 March to 28 July 2013.
A pop icon for more than forty years, David Bowie is a multifaceted artist that has forged a unique path by exploring many different musical styles all while dictating fashion and style with his many looks.
The London museum has gained access to Bowie’s personal archives, which includes sixty thousand costumes, photographs, designs, musical instruments, videos, film, records and personal items.
Bowie didn’t want to participate in the selection of the 300 items exhibited in order to avoid influencing the curators so he gave the museum complete freedom to present his life and works, explore his creative processes as a musical innovator and cultural icon and examine his style, which he has continually reinvented over the last five decades.
