Books for Cooks is a unique bookshop in London, specialising exclusively in cookery and gourmet food and wine books.
On a side street just off Portobello Road in London’s Notting Hill area, the book shop is easy to find thanks to its very British red shop window.
Inside is a kitchen where recipes from all over the world are prepared on a daily basis and given to customers to sample.
Books for Cooks is run by Rosie and Eric. Rosie welcomes customers and assists them in their book choices, while Eric is in charge of the kitchen.
During the week he tries out unusual recipes, some of which are to be found in the books on sale, while on Saturdays he usually prepares classic recipes.
Every year, Rosie and Eric collect the recipes that were most popular with their customers and publish them in a book.
