The Mall Tavern
The Mall Tavern, in Notting Hill, London, has been serving traditional British fare and beers since 1856.
The chef Jesse Dunford Wood offers different specials every day, giving special attention to seasonal products.
Here some excellent cask ales may be had, munching a snack, for example, pork cracking with apple sauce, or cauliflower fritters with curry mayo.
Complete meals may also be had, thanks to the kitchen being open from midday until 8:00 pm, offering besides snacks and hors d'oeuvres, excellent one course meals such as, Chicken Kiev), Poached duck egg with green onions, chestnuts and lemon thyme, or Fillet of black bream with Jerusalem artichokes and almonds.
The menu also includes cheeses, desserts including Rhubarb Bakewell or Clementine Cheesecake.
Besides the beers, The Mall Tavern serves mostly Italian and French wines and a selection of whiskeys as well as fine cocktails such as the traditional Bloody Mary.
