Bob Dylan – The New Orleans Series

05/02/2013 - 10/03/2013

From 5 February to 10 March 2013, Palazzo Reale in Milan will host the Bob Dylan – The New Orleans Series show, presenting the artwork of the great American singer-songwriter in Italy for the first time.

The exhibition, which takes place in the Appartamento di Riserva of Palazzo Reale, displays 22 paintings by Dylan inspired by photographs taken of faces and scenes in New Orleans during the 40s and 50s.

Although the New Orleans of the 60s influenced Bob Dylan’s composition style, it is clear that this versatile artist was fascinated by the quiet scenes of elegance, decadence, eroticism and daily life that he perhaps dreamed of experiencing first hand and that, with a decisive hand and often dark colors, he wished to recreate in these paintings.
