20/09/2012 - 06/01/2013

From September 20,2012 to January 6, 2013, the Royal Palace in Milan will be hosting the exhibition Pablo Picasso. Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris an exceptional anthology of the works of the great Spanish master.

This is the third grand exhibition of Picasso's works to be ever hosted in Milan, after the previous ones in 1953 and 2001.

More than 200 artworks including drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, and documents trace the most significant stages in the artist's career, a true chronological digression that compares the several techniques and expressive media used by Picasso throughout his life.

Masterpieces such as "La Celestine" (1904), "Man with a Mandolin" (1911), "Portrait of Olga in the Armchair" (1918), "Two women running on the beach" (1922), "Paul as a Harlequin" (1924), "Portrait of Dora Maar" and "The beggar" (1937) grant visitors the opportunity to trace the history of art through the evolution of the artistic language of this undisputed master of the 20th century.

The charted path also includes a section dedicated to an in-depth examination of the exhibition on Picasso held in the Royal Palace in 1953.
