Russian State Ballet of Rostov in Swan Lake
20/02/2012 - 24/02/2012
On the evenings of 20th, 22nd and 24th February 2012, at Milan's Teatro Smeraldo, Swan Lake will be staged, with an exceptional performance by the Russian State Ballet of Rostov.
Founded in 1999 at the oldest comedy musical theatre in southern Russia, the Rostov State Opera Ballet, based in Rostov-sul-Don, is one of the most important cultural hubs of Southern Russia.
Swan Lake, probably the most famous masterpiece of classical ballet, owes its success to the extraordinary choreography created in 1895 by Marius Petipa and the magnificent music by Tchaikovsky.
The choreography presented by the Russian State Ballet of Rostov, by Elena Ivanova for the direction by Alexei Fadeechev, maintains all the force of the original, and promises to be a show that will leave the audience spellbound, both in the case of experts and those seeing it for the first time, perhaps approaching ballet on the wave of success of the film Black Swan.
