-A well-situated comfortable stay. Old fashioned charm combined with modern comfort and a well trained staff at your disposal. The location in the very heart of Milan just behind Via della Spiga and all major shopping attractions makes this hotel unique. Only one minus, it is allowed to smoke in the lobby and bar of the hotel : pity...

Excellent location for a shopping spree. The end of August was pretty quiet in Milan. Not a bad time to make your autumn shopping. Hotel's location is perfect - just where all the main shopping streets are! Comfortable room in classic style. Huge bathroom with all the equipment. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Excellent stay!

This his is "Old Europe" at its best. Arriving at the landscaped circular drive I felt like I was visiting a private mansion in the heart of Milan. I was warmly welcomed by the doorman and desk staff. Our Jr. Suite was large and comfortable with large flower boxed windows opening on a busy street, however, we were never bothered by street noise. The marble bathroom, with marble inlayed floor, had double sinks and a dinner plate size shower head, also lots of fluffy towels and robes. I especially appreciated the built in night light. The concierge was very helpful in choosing restaurants that we loved. The bar, where we collapsed each day after touring/shopping was decorated like a men's club. The excellent, and very expensive, cocktails were accompanied by canapes and mixed nuts. The mini bar charges were also priced on the high side, but the internet provided in the room was free. The included breakfast was varied, abundant and excellent. The location was perfect with Milan's most famous shopping street just behind the hotel. I will definitely return to this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and were lucky enough to get upgraded to a superior room. The room was big and well decorated. It lived up to the 'old style' I was looking for. The service was excellent, especially at the reception desk. Breakfast was adequate based on what I had read before in the reviews. Tip: you can have toast - just ask! That said the prices for anything else is v pricey. Also we were lucky with the room, as we saw some other rooms were much smaller. The staff were also very particular about not smoking indoors, which was good as a non smoker. Would have expected designer toiletries - however, only got hotel branded stuff! Freebies were limited....Did not eat at the restaurant or use the spa or use the business centre, so cannot comment. The location was central, walking distance to the major attractions. The doorman informed that Pierce Brosnan and George Clooney had stayed there recently! Overall good hotel but very expensive. Great for a special occasion. Also Milan is a very expensive city, particularly with the weak pound

A nice boutique hotel. Excellent for Milan. We just returned from a stay at the Carlton Hotel Baglioni. This hotel wasn't our first choice in Milan. But since the hotel we have reserved(Petit Palais), mixed up the room type we had booked, and only after our request for reconfirmation informed us about this, we started looking for another hotel in the city. We contacted the hotel, and they were able to offer us a competitive rate for a suite. Our check in was ok, nothing special, and we were shown to our suite, on the 5th floor , at the end of the wing of the hotel that faces via Senato. Our room was spacious, clean(although drapes could have been cleaner), with a living room with a free open bar, a dressing room, a nice bedroom and a big bathroom. There was also a small terrace facing the 3 sides of the building. We checked also some of the rooms on our corridor which while tastefully decorated, they were small, so check what room you are going to get. Staff was good, and efficient, and breakfast was fine, with a large selection of foods. The second entrance of the hotel, right on Via Della Spiga was very convenient, right on the fashion district. For Milan, we really enjoyed this hotel, even more than the Principe di Savoia where we last stayed at.
