Boncompagni Ludovisi Museum, Rome
Located in via Boncompagni, in an eclectic early twentieth-century villa, the Boncompagni Ludovisi Museum in Rome has been dedicated to 19th and 20th century Decorative Arts, Costume and Fashion the since 1995.
The building still features its original furniture, some from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, a series of 17th century Flemish tapestries and various antique porcelain pieces.
The walls of the great hall are decorated with trompe l'oeil landscapes and there are also various period paintings.
Objets d'art and architectural ornamentation, fashion, costume, and design from the late eighteenth century to date are exhibited on a rotating basis, in part thanks to the donations of designers such as Gattinoni, Valentino and Lancetti.
