Keats-Shelley House, Rome

The final residence of the writer and poet, John Keats, the house is next to the Spanish Steps in Piazza di Spagna.

The Keats-Shelley House in Rome is a must for all fans of Romanticism, who will love seeing the sculptures, paintings, manuscripts and everyday items that belonged to Keats, Shelley, Milton, Lord Byron, Mary Shelley, Oscar Wilde and many others.

The library features some first editions of the main works of leading Romanticists and many first editions of the movement’s second generation.

There is also an interesting collection of travel and history books on the famous Grand Tour that wealthy foreigners were wont to take in Italy.
