Alexanderplatz Jazz Club, Rome
Alexanderplatz, in Rome’s Ottaviano Area, is regarded as a cornerstone of the Roman jazz movement. Something between a bookshop and night club where you can listen to live music selected by the owner Gianpiero Rubei, who is also its artistic director.
The entire history of contemporary jazz has performed on its stage: from Benny Golson to Chet Baker, Franco D’Andrea and Enrico Pieranunzi, to name just a few. The walls bear countless autographs and inscriptions left by musicians, critics and historians of this musical genre.
The American magazine Down Beat mentioned Rubei’s club as being one of the best Jazz Clubs in the world.
The club also has an international restaurant with a strong Mediterranean feel and an American Bar.
