Situated among the buildings near the Temple of Hadrian, Salotto 42 is a relatively new bar that immediately became a favourite with the offspring of the Roman jet set.
It calls itself a “book bar” and, in fact, while relaxing on 1950s armchairs and divans, amid 1920s memorabilia and Murano lamps, customers can leaf through books and magazines on design to the soothing sounds of Nu Jazz, Downtempo and Electro-Bossa.
The bar serves excellent wines, cocktails, classic drinks and unique Swedish dishes.
A buffet brunch is served at weekends.
