Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation in Venice
The Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation was established to promote the art of Emilio Vedova, the great Venetian artist who gained important recognition from the Venice Biennale, the Accademia dei Lincei (Lincei Academy) and other prestigious international organisations.
The Foundation traces the Vedova’s personal and artistic path, which saw him pass through distinct periods, from Expressionism to Neocubism.
His most famous works are exhibited in Rome’s International Gallery of Contemporary Art and at the Guggenheim Collection in Venice.
His studio at Dorsoduro 50 was the last large atelier where the maestro worked from the 1970s onward, a place he was particularly fond of and where he created his most significant works, from Plurimi Binari, the large 1980s canvases and then Dischi…i Tondi…gli Oltre, as well as Carnevali and the Continuum to Modellini Per Uno Spazio.
The Magazzini del Sale, which was saved from demolition by the timely intervention of Emilio Vedova himself, is another exhibition space managed by the Foundation.
The Studio Vedova is also a venue for Emilio Vedova’s lesser known works, such as his sculptures, while Magazzini del Sale gives visibility to selected modern and contemporary artists.
