Amalric Walter. The Rediscovery of cooled Molten Glass
02/02/2013 - 15/05/2013
The Museo del Vetro in Murano (Venice) will host the Amalric Walter. The Rediscovery of cooled Molten Glass show from 2 February to 12 May 2013, dedicated to the French master of the “molten glass” technique.
With about four hundred objects, the Museo del Vetro presents this artisan-artistic work to the public to rediscover the ancient technique of molten glass, used from the times of the ancient Egyptians.
Walter didn't have students and he never revealed his secret technique. Each object is therefore a unique and irreplaceable piece since no one since has been able to replicate the mysterious molten glass binder used by the artist to cover the moulds.
All the pieces exhibited come from private collections around the world for an explosion of color, forms and nuances on bowls, broaches, glasses, boxes, bookmarks, lamps and vases.
