Dogi miniatures

From 12 October to 7 December the Doge’s Palace in Venice hosts the exhibition Miniature dei Dogi. Venezia e veneziani, santi e virtù belle Commissioni ducali del Museo Correr, dedicated to ancient manuscripts which make up one of the most important heritages of the Musei Civici Veneziani.
The library of Museo Correr in its collections, includes that which is probably the vastest collection in the world of miniature manuscripts on the official posts of the Republic of Venice.
Going back from the year fourteenth century to the end of the eighteenth century, over fifty volumes were presented to the public for such public to be able to admire the splendid miniatures hand painted with brilliant colours and gold in laminate or dust.
