Francesco Guardi
28/09/2012 - 06/01/2013
From September 28, 2012 to January 6, 2013, the Museum Correr in Venice will be displaying an exhibition entirely centered on the works of Francesco Guardi, the last landscape artist of the 18th century.
The expository path presents over a hundred works between paintings and drawings coming from chief Italian and foreign institutions, among which are the Carrara Academy of Bergamo, the Gemaldegalerie in Berlin, the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, the Gulbenkian Foundation of Lisbon, the National Gallery of London, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Foundation of Madrid, the Picture Gallery of Brera, the Museum Poldi Pezzoli of Milan, the Alte Pinakothek of Munich, the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York, the Louvre Museum of Paris, the Hermitage of Saint Petersburg, and the National Gallery of Washington, and is a witness to the various stages of Francesco Guardi's artistic career through the many artworks for the first time ever lent to the Venetian museum.
