Lou Salomé at the Fenice

For the first time in Italy, Venice's Teatro La Fenice presents Lou Salomé by Giovanni Sinopoli.

This contemporary opera in two acts based on the libretto by Karl Dietrich Gräwe and inspired by the memoires of the Russian author and psychoanalyst Lou Andreas-Salomé, was performed for the first time on 10th May 1981 at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.

Ángeles Blancas Gulín will be playing Lou Salomé, accompanied by the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra and Choir, conducted by Lothar Zagrosek.

The new staging at Teatro La Fenice is by the Musical Theatre Laboratory of the Faculty of Art and Design of Venice's IUAV University, led by tutors Luca Ronconi, Franco Ripa di Meana, Margherita Palli and Vera Marzot.
