From 16 to 30 November the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia inaugurates the Opera Season 2012-1013 with Giuseppe Verdi’s Otello.
An operatic drama in four acts on libretto of Arrigo Boito, taken from the famous play by William Shakespeare, Othello and Giuseppe Verdi’s last masterpiece tragedy.
This new makeover by the director Francesco Micheli, the scenographer Edoardo Sanchi and the costume artist Silvia Aymonino will be presented again in April on the occasion of the inauguration of the new Festival Hall in Osaka, Japan.
Gregory Kundy alternating with Walter Fraccaro in the role of Othello, Leah Crocetto alternating with Carmale Remigio in that of Desdemona and Lucio Gallo alternating with Dimitri Platanias in the role of Jago.
The orchestra and the Teatro la Fenice, together with the white voices choir of the Piccoli Cantori Veneziani is directed by the Korean maestro Myung-Whun Chung.
