Pietro Bembo and the Invention of the Renaissance

02/02/2013 - 19/05/2013

At the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà in Padua, just 45 minutes from Venice by train, the Pietro Bembo and the Invention of the Renaissance exhibition will take place from 2 February to 19 May 2013, hosting masterpieces from this author and merchant at his home in Padua.

It was at this house in via Altinate in Padua where what many called the first museum of Renaissance was opened. In fact, Bembo collected the works of artists that he discovered and that he surrounded himself with in this home.

Bellini, Giorgione, Mantegna, Raphael and Perugino are just some of the artists that are being displayed for the public for the first time at this unique show. These works come from some of the most important museums in Europe and the US.
