Founded in Venice in 1930, Torrefazione Marchi is the last remaining coffee shop licensed to roast coffee on the premises.
Every day, the best quality coffees from every corner of the globe are roasted and blended in front of customers, who can then enjoy a cup of freshly roasted coffee and savour its fragrant aroma.
Over the years, plenty of stars have stopped by the Cannaregio coffee shop: Woody Allen and his wife Soon Yi, Peter Weller and, in the fifties, Marcello Mastroianni, Alberto Sordi, Vittorio De Sica, Cary Grant, Anita Ekberg and Gillo Pontecorvo.
Not surprisingly, as part of the celebrations for its 80th anniversary and of its recognition as an Historic Landmark, Torrefazione Marchi was selected as the official supplier of "Venice Days" at the 67th Venice Film Festival.
Of all Marchi blends, Caffè della Sposa (Coffee of the Bride), created in the 1950s from a blend of 8 different types of coffee, is an absolute must.
