Anice Stellato Venetian Tavern
A traditional tavern with a kitchen that is popular with the locals, the Anice Stellato is situated off the beaten track of crowds of tourists.
The tavern is friendly and informal so visitors can concentrate on enjoying the true flavours of Venetian cuisine.
The Pasta e fagioli con crostacei (Pasta and bean soup with crustaceans), the classic Risotto di Pesce (Fish risotto), or Pasta fatta in casa con seppie e fagioli cannellini (Home-made pasta with cuttlefish and cannellini beans) are excellent.
There are two different menus – a traditional menu and a more creative menu.
As in all Venetian taverns, food and drink is also served at the bar, where you can sip a fresh glass of wine, accompanied by classic Venetian cichéti (nibbles) such as Sarde in saòr (panfried Sardines) or Sardoni al forno con limone e zenzero (Oven-baked sardines with lemon and ginger).
For an outdoor table it is recommended that you book in advance.
