Sangal Venice Restaurant
The Sangal Venice Restaurant is located on Campo San Gallo, right on Piazza San Marco in Venice.
It takes up two floors, to which is added a magnificent terrace with a breathtaking view of Piazza San Marco
The premises, one time occupied by an historical fabric shop, have been completely remodelled using refined materials and colour schemes using beige and black as the predominant hues.
The chef, Matteo Tagliapietra, offering a balanced cuisine that draws on tradition, loves to combine earth and sea elements, with dishes such as Blanched red mullet with beets, currants and sweet/fruit pickle, Fondant of veal head with royal al katsuoboshi and endive alla gin tonic, Risotto alla Guinness with oysters and pork cracklings, Spaghetti with sea scallop carbonara, Calamari Sandwich with potatoes and prickly pear.
The desserts, apparently very simple, play on the combination of contrasting flavours. Take for example, Banana, chocolate and ginger, Sugar, fig and Gorgonzola, Persimmon, pepper and bread, Milk, rice and chestnuts.
And, in the end there is never a lack of the reinterpretation of a great classic, with the Tiramisù Sangal.
Apart from the A la Carte menu there is also a tasting menu from the Venetian Lagoon tradition and one defined "extemporaneously contemporary" with new dishes.
An excellent wine list, contains a selection of fine Italian and foreign vintages.
