The Luna gives you what is a rarity in Venice: space, quiet, service and understated luxury. Our room, a superior double, was very cushy in the fabrics, wallpaper, upholster day. The bathroom was great as were the toiletries. The room had a small Juliet balcony that we could stand on and look out (sideways) toward the lagoon. The hotel is not cheap, but from what I've read and heard from friends, it offers a better deal than the Cipriani, the Danilei or the Gritti. I've also read about mediocre rooms in those hotels. Luna is down the street from Harry's Bar and just two minues from Piazza San Marco. And yes, Harry's Bar is worth it for the scene, the Bellinis, and the good food. Dress elegantly even if you are dressed casually--style means a lot to Italians. The Luna Hotel's service is superb, from the maid to the manager. Whenever we had a special request, it was met with courtesy, profesionalism and charm. This trip was my honeymoon, and it was a dream. The Luna helped make this possible. My only negatives are: the Internet costs money from an outside service, and I would like to have seen a restaurant that is less formal than the one they have (although friends have told us the food is excellent.) We did not eat the breakfast, as it was very expensive (as it is at all five-start Italian hotels). Instead, we did what locals do and went to a cafe for cappuccinos and pastry. Italians are not big on breakfast..

Your contact with fascinating Venice begins at twe hotel. The Baglioni is as Venitian as an hotel can get. Just getting into the hotel by the water-taxy entrance with the decorated poles poking out of the canal and the flower boxes, is fascinating. Inside, the decoration, the friendliness of the staff in general and the concierges in particular, make your stay meet your expectations.

Excellent! Perfect central location, very helpful staff, big and comfortable rooms. A bit noisy at night but it was Carnival, and usually everyone's tucked up in bed by eleven so wouldn't normally be a problem. Highly recommend.

My husband and I spent one night here before heading to the Gritti Palace for the second night. For 100 euros a night less we enjoyed this hotel much more. The staff was very helpful and the room was very very comfortable and roomy. We were even given an upgrade on a larger suite with a small porch that had a view of the canal. The hotel includes a complimentary boat ride to murano island to see the glass blowing and a tour of the products after. If done again we would have stayed here and not gone to the gritti palace.

This was my 4th trip to Venice and my first time staying at the Baglioni. I stayed at the Monaco on my last stay and visited the Baglioni where my sister used the Internet in the lobby (budding romance with soon to be fiance). The computers are now gone but the hotel did not disappoint. We booked the least expensive room for a little over 200 Euros a night. I thought the rate was very reasonable. I was worried the Classic Room would be too dowdy and drab but it was nice (quite large) and for our 2 night stay more than adequate. The marble bathroom with a large shower and double sinks was a welcome surprise. The Fortuny lights hanging near the bed was also a nice touch. We visited Venice during the "high water" in late November. Therefore we could not leave the hotel the next morning until after 11:30 am. One of the stores across from the back door was ruined as it was completely flooded. The hotel provided orange plastic boots to put over your shoes. We did not use them but other guests did who had to get to the airport. We did hear the sirens and bells at 5:30 am warning Venetians of the high water to come in the morning. This also happened the second night but the water was not nearly as high. We ate breakfast in the grand dining room with beautiful frescos. The best part about the restaurant was the decor. The breakfast buffet was disappointing. For 42 euros per person for the "big buffet" (hot and cold items) it could be a lot better. Luke warm scrambled eggs, wieners, bacon, smoked salmon and some nondescript cheese was a rip off. We only ate here because of the flooding outside the hotel. The next day we found a nice cafe and had a very good breakfast at reasonable cost. The staff at the hotel were very patient and gave us good directions. However, one of the Venetian mask stores that I have seen mentioned on the Luna Baglioni website was not mentioned by the front desk. I had to ask him about it. The one store he did mention was not that good (begins with an "N"). Marega was much better as was Casin de Nobile. The hotel was very clean and I took the stairs for the exercise to our 3rd floor room. I loved the free wifi. That was a very nice amenity. With the exception of the disappointing breakfast I enjoyed our stay very much.

We spent two nights in this lovely hotel. Although out of season the staff were fantastic. The hotel was quite and very comfortable, the restaurant was a bit expensive but we did receive a discount as residents, the food was lovely and service second to none. If you want luxury in Venice then stay here, location is great and trip from airport via taxi was pleasant as you get dropped off at the front of the hotel.

What a gem of a hotel. Located next to Mt Marks square and central to all shopping the Luna Baglioni is a true 5 star luxury hotel offering fantastic high quality rooms, a great breakfast and located a short walk to all that Venice offers. If you want quality then the Luna is for you. We spent 3 nights at the hotel in a Junior suite. Views over St Marks square and a balcony in our bedroom offering views over the Judaica Canal. Bathroom was huge and even had a TV to watch while you have a bath. Book with a Virtuoso travel agent like FBI Travel, and receive upgrades, breakfast and VIP treatment. We are in love with Venice and my wife and I want to go back again soon. The hotel has a Bar and restaurant but it was the big breakfast that started our day in the best possible way. This was a fantastic holiday and a hotel we highly recommend.

Perfect! I took my wife to Venice for her birthday and after MUCH deliberation, I settled on the Luna Hotel Baglioni (other forerunners were the Ca'Sagredo, Gritti Palace and the Bauer il Palazzo). I definitely made the right choice; we could not fault anything about it: - LOCATION: perfect - could be approached by canal or by foot; mere steps away from Piazza San Marco yet no disturbance to speak of; - THE ROOM: we had a junior suite; exquisitely appointed - light green silk walls, Murano glass light fixtures, Fortuny lamps, highly polished dark wood furniture, decadent bed frame and canopy and a HUGE marble bathroom (with his and her sinks, a walk-in shower with a rainforest shower-head and a separate stand-alone bathtub, etc.); - SERVICE: the 'Elite Service' (pre-arrival request for information about personal preferences) is a very nice touch. Also, the staff were very courteous and helpful - e.g., suggesting/organising activities; their restaurant recommendations were spot-on! - PRICE: I felt that the hotel was far better value for money than (among others) the Gritti Palace, the various Bauers and other comparables (which we also happened to visit during our stay). We will definitely be staying here again next time we visit Venice.

I chose this Hotel for the first 3 nights of my Honeymoon based on Trip Advisor. First of all I would like to note that my search was only within 5 Star Hotels. We arrived at the airport and took the Water Taxi straight to the Hotel dock. This cost us 95 EUR. The Junior Sweet number 308 was AMAZING and waay beyond our expectations! Room furniture was Venetian style and beautiful. Room had a sitting area, dining area, dressing room and a huge balcony. My wife LOVED it. Service was good and concierge was helpful. The hotel took us to a Glass Factory in Murano via a private boat for Free. Room has everything from safe box, slippers and bath robes. Bathroom has a standing shower, jacuzzi, two sinks and all the required showering stuff. Bedroom is the coziest hotel room I had ever stayed at. I will post photos soon along with this review. Moreover, I booked with the same Hotel chain (Baglioni Hotels) in Florence. Upon my arrival I found that they automatically and without request upgraded us to a Junior Sweet with Breakfast and invited us for dinner at 3 different restaurants for our three night stay. Restaurants were excellent and we were so pleased. I would definitely recommend the Luna to anyone going to Venice.

This hotel was fabulous. It is located extremely close to St. Mark's Square and The Hard Rock Cafe. Our room was beautiful and the whole hotel had a very elegant feel to it. The breakfast provided by the hotel was a nice selection of food.

The most fabolous hotel in Venice. I’ve traveled throughout Europe and I can’t give the Hotel Luna and the amazing service staff enough compliments. During our stay, from the moment we arrived via water taxi, we were attended to as if we were royalty. From the hotel manager to concierge, our time spent at Luna was the best experience I have had in Europe. We even stayed an extra night because of the service and beauty of the hotel. Also, the chef in their restaurant is a genius and every course was perfectly matched by the sommelier’s master wine pairing.

We loved our stay at the Luna Baglioni. The location just steps away from the Piazza San Marco is excellent and unexpectedly quiet. The only disappointment was the apparent lack of doormen, as no one was around to help us get our luggage from the water-taxi into the hotel -- we were on our own. Other than that, however, service was excellent, and the concierge was cordial and helpful. We had a cozy but beautiful room with sumptuous silk draperies and bedcovers and a gorgeous marble bathroom. The room was very quiet despite being situated on the mezzanine overlooking the entryway and a gondola dock. Breakfast was served in a magnificent ballroom that belonged in a museum. The breakfast buffet was massive and opulent. Be sure to have a cocktail on the tiny veranda along the canal -- there are only three tables and the drink prices are high (about 18-20 Euros a piece), but the experience is worth it. We were served three different sets of complimentary hors d'oeuvres with just one drink purchased, and the waiter service was outstanding. We only wish we could have stayed here longer, and will definitely return.

We stayed in Luna Baglioni in May 2009 for our wedding anniversary. This hotel was wonderful and just what we wanted from our romantic trip. First of all, we took the water taxi from the airport, which goes directly to the hotel. Our trip couldn't start in a more romantic way. We booked the suite for 4 nights and were happy with our choice. The hotel is located in a historical building, steps from San Marco square and next to the Harry's Bar - Cipriani restaurant. The staff was lovely and the breakfast decent in an impressive ballroom. We didn't spent much time inside and haven't tried any facilities but we were impressed with the staff knowledge and suggestions as one night we realized the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. They recommended even better one! My husband is Italian and he prepared well, so if he was impressed, so will you!

I stayed here during a business trip. My room was a standard room, but it was excellent. Fine furnishings and a rich decor. The staff seemed always on the lookout to make things as good as they get. Truly a first class hotel. And, the best part... Long after the cruise ships are gone you are a mere 30 second walk away to the square. At night the square is fantastic.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Luna Baglioni - chosen based on the reviews on this site. It was our first trip to Venice so have nothing to compare with, although based on appearances, we were very happy with our choice. It's a great spot for San Marco and the higher end shops/boutiques. We had a Junior Suite with a lagoon view which was just great - plenty of room, views of the lagoon from one of the windows and a balcony. Staff here are very helpful and courteous. Nice bar and restaurant with attentive waiters. We were celebrating our 40th birthdays and there were some nice little touches such as the bottle of Cava and chocolate dipped fruit. Will be going back to Venice at some point and will almost certainly be returning to the Luna Baglioni.
