Serego Alighieri

A stroll through History, Dante's wine

The last descendent of the divine narrator will offer you the chance to taste the tranquillity of the places where Dante resided. For one weekend, you will be taken on a journey of discovery of historic wineries and vineyards, with gourmet experiences that will bowl you over.

The offer includes:

THE WINERY AND RAISINING EXPERIENCE
This experience can only begin in the winery. It begins with an exclusive tour of the Masi wineries. Masi is a leading producer of Amarone, with expertise in the raisining technique that is recognised throughout the world. Guests then move on to the fruit store where the grapes are raisined; in the winter season, when the bamboo racks are covered in grapes that are resting to dry, the experience is truly unique, offering not just a unique sight, but above all a unique scent, with the perfume of over-ripened grapes welcoming guests. The multi-sensory experience continues with the tasting of an initial selection of Masi fine wines.
(Duration of this first experience: two hours)
Guests then move on to a tour of the Serego Alighieri winery, which is smaller and more compact but packed with fragrant cherry-wood barrels and of the traditional fruit store for raisining the grapes. This is followed by a tasting of the fine Serego Alghieri wines.
(Duration: one hour).

IMMERSION IN HISTORY
The visit to Serego Alighieri is a chance to take a stroll through history, taking a look back at the ups and downs of the Serego Alighieri family of counts, descendants of Dante, told by Count Pieralvise and his daughter Massimilla, the last descendant of the aristocratic family.

THE VINEYARD EXPERIENCE
A stroll in the vineyard to get to know the unique terroirs in which the fine wines are born and to immerse yourself in nature with its changing seasons; the autumn is particularly special, when you can watch the magical rite of the harvest.
(Duration: one hour).

COOKING EXPERIENCE
The experience concludes with a cookery course dedicated to rice-based dishes, the famous Vialone Nano rice, typical of the Verona plains and perfect for preparing risottos, which the Serego Alighieri family also farms in the traditional way. With the course given by a well-known chef, you will have the chance to try your hand at the preparation of typical rice-based dishes in the local gastronomic tradition, such as the famous risotto all’Amarone, which will then be tasted accompanied by Possessioni wines.
(Duration: three hours).

VAIO ARMARON
As guests, you will immediately receive a special gift from the winery. Then, when the long vinification and ageing phase is complete, you will receive a further 120 bottles of Amarone Vaio Armaron, with a special label to remind you of the experience shared, at a special sale price for this package, exclusively for Baglioni Hotels.

Cost of the experience: from EUR 7,360. For info and bookings: vip@baglionihotels.com

Venice's Luna Hotel Baglioni, around two hours by car from Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella (PI), where the Masi - Serego Alighieri winery is located, is the ideal choice to be within easy reach of your wine experience in Valpolicella.
