The Chapel of White Penitents built in the 17th century is undoubtedly one of the treasures of St Paul de Vence.
In fact, the last work by Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon, who died in 2005, which was finished after he passed away, is stored inside the chapel.
Jean-Michel Folon for a long period lived in St Paul, illustrating the opera omnia of Jacques Prévert and establishing a strong relationship with the local community.
It was to Folon that the town hall commissioned the renovation of the Chapel, which was completed in 2006 based on the original project of the artist, with the cooperation of local artists and artisans.
