For more than 30 years, the estate of Castello Banfi has been synonymous with Rosso di Montalcino.
In fact, it was precisely in Montalcino in 1978 that the two Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani acquired the 2830 hectare property, 850 hectares of which were dedicated to specialised vineyards.
They introduced new grape varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrahto, which found an ideal habitat here alongside native varieties of Sangiovese and Moscadello.
The cantina, highlighted in Winespectator, an authoritative wine magazine, stocks the great wines of Montalcino (Brunello, Rosso and Moscadello di Montalcino), as well as other wines from southern Tuscany.
Customers may also purchase other wines produced by associated vineyards in Piedmont, France, Australia and Chile. Gift sets are also available.
