Founded in 1999 with headquarters in Via del Corso, Museo Fondazione Roma is an exhibition space that combines the principles of the Fondazione Roma, such as the exploitation of local resources and cultural dissemination, with special sensitivity as regards the weaker segments of society.
The Museum collaborates with the most prestigious Italian and international museums. Its key partnerships are those with the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the State Museum in St. Petersburg, Moscow’s Kremlin and Puškin Museums, the Louvre Museum, the Palace Museum in Peking, the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, the Honolulu Academy of Arts and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
Fondazione Roma’s Permanent Collection houses paintings, sculptures, prints, engravings, ceramics and tapestries from the 14th to 19th centuries.
Masterpieces are grouped by school and style, and are all original and coherent and are directly linked, through the subject or the author, with the fulcrum of the Foundation: the city of Rome.
