From 21 September 2017 until 28 January 2018 at the Barbican Centre in London.

Basquiat grew up in Brooklyn, and became a graffiti artist in his teenage years. Then, coming of age in the seismic New York art scene of the ’80s, he was taken under the wing of Andy Warhol and shot to fame and fortune: a glittering superstar. Drawing from international museums and private collections, Basquiat: Boom for Real brings together an outstanding selection of more than 100 works, many never before seen in the UK, including a partial reconstruction of the first body of work that Basquiat exhibited.
