Baglioni Hotels & The University of Gastronomic Sciences present “Breakfast 4 you”. Blending tradition and modernity, four gastronomic routes towards a new breakfast concept.
Milan, December 2014 – With a view to offering an innovative gastronomic concept, able to meet the needs of an increasingly attentive audience with regards to of food, Baglioni Hotels, in collaboration with the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, has embarked on a sustainable journey aimed at reinventing breakfast time.
The concept was overseen by Prof. Michele Antonio Fino, Lecturer at the University of Gastronomic Sciences, and the project has been implemented at the Baglioni Hotel Carlton in Milan. The goal is to export the format to all the other Baglioni Hotels, tweaking it according to the specific local context of each destination.
In order to offer a brand new breakfast experience, we have identified a series of suppliers who share our vision: offering food that is good, clean and fair. By establishing a direct relationship with them, the aim is to involve them as much as possible in the implementation of the project set out above.
The Breakfast 4 you format, combining Buffet and à la Carte formulas, comes in 4 different versions: Tradition, Identity, 2.0 and Wellbeing.
Tradition: this first option aims to take the breakfast traditions of the best continental hotels and strengthen them. The menu offers specialities that have contributed to the success of legendary places of hospitality, combining history about chefs and great maîtres, creators of dishes or gastronomic innovations.
Identity: the hotel will leave a gastronomically indelible mark in the mind of travellers. If in town for a short time, they won’t have to miss out on tasting local ingredients. With the Identity menu, the produce on offer is typical of the local area while still in keeping with the dishes usually prepared by Baglioni Hotels.
2.0: Twenty-First Century gastronomy shows us how global trends are reshaping the offer, the perception and the idea itself. A variety of dishes that testify the evolution in progress, overcoming traditional don’ts (sweet/savoury; entrée/main course; soft/hard), allowing guests to benefit from Baglioni Hotels’ ability to tune in to the newest arrivals in international haute cuisine: to give them a gourmet experience the moment they wake up.
Wellbeing: This selection of dishes and combinations, carefully studied, offer guests the opportunity to eat healthily without sacrificing the taste. The use of some unusual vegetables as raw ingredients, intensifies the experience, matching food for the body and nourishment for the mind.
Breakfast 4 you is available every day for hotel guests and non-residents, from 7 am to 11 am, at Caffè Baglioni, Via Senato 5, Milan.
