A new selection of objects created by the Masters of contemporary design is the protagonist of the “Design the Italian Excellence” exhibition, entitled “Extra Ordinary – Vases & Flowers”, on display until January 2020 at the Baglioni Hotel Carlton in Milan.
Curated by Vincenzo Basile, the masterpieces, selected exclusively for the hotel from the Collection of the Alessi Museum in Crusinallo, trace the history of the collection of objects dedicated to flower pots that Alessi, the prestigious Italian manufacturer of design, made over the years.
Most of these works are limited editions, numbered and autographed by the authors themselves. Materials range from 18/10 inox steel with satin finishes, 18Kt gold, ceramics, metacrilate-PVC in unique colors, glass and treated aluminum.
The designers who have been involved are artisans of the Italian know-how, characterized by a very sophisticated design and a talent that makes them real artists.
In the detail, a work of art by Enzo Mari in the exhibition “ECOLO”, dated 1995, anticipates the environmental issues, safeguarding and respect for the planet that characterize today’s social and political debate, aimed at seeking a sustainable environmental future.
These are some of the names of internationally reknowned artists who are involved in the initiative:
Ettore Sottsass, Enzo Mari, Mario Botta, Stefano Giovannoni, Mario Trimarchi, Doriana & Massimiliano Fuksas, Fernando & Humberto Campana, Ron Harad, Zaha Hadid, Philippe Stark.
