Horne Museum

The Horne Museum, located in the building bearing the same name in Florence’s historical centre, exhibits a number of antiques, sculptures and a vast collection of paintings on wood from the 14th and 15th centuries.

The legacy of art historian Herbert Percy Horne, the museum is still today an elegant treasure trove of paintings and sculptures (from Giotto to Simone Martini, Masaccio, Filippino Lippi, Domenico Beccafumi and Giambologna). However, the museum is above all a period home, with fine pieces of 13th to the 17th century furniture.

The many rooms are organized according to the items on display; the exhibition space occupies the entire ground floor, first floor and second floor of Palazzo Horne.
